My research community includes graduate students, studio teams, high school interns, community partners, public agencies, and academic collaborators. This page focuses on mentoring culture, student contributions, and opportunities for collaboration.

Mentoring approach

I mentor students as emerging analysts, writers, researchers, and public professionals. Students contribute to literature reviews, GIS analysis, interviews, focus groups, survey work, program evaluation, data visualization, report writing, public presentations, and community engagement.

My goal is to help students develop both technical confidence and professional judgment.

Graduate research

Graduate students support research on housing, mobility, climate adaptation, community development, and regional governance.

Studio teams

Studio students produce public-facing reports, maps, and implementation strategies with agency and community partners.

Pathway mentoring

The UPCD High School Program extends planning education to younger students and builds early exposure to the profession.
